Our platform transforms how organizations accelerate innovation, research, and development by empowering governments, enterprises, and research institutions to host or co-host funding rounds, release Requests for Proposals (RFPs), run ideation challenges, and collect targeted R&D data. Through the power of AI and decentralized participation, we make innovation more inclusive, efficient, and impactful.
Program Performance & Financial Governance
As a Program Performance Financial Governance Analyst, you will work with the Data Analytics Circle to proactively uncover risks, inefficiencies, inconsistencies, and blind spots across DEEP, including issues we may not even be aware of yet. This is not a “run these reports” role. It is a self-steering, investigative role for someone who naturally questions assumptions, follows evidence to root causes, and turns findings into clear improvement actions.
A key trait for this role is independent judgment: Are you the kind of person who uncovers the uncomfortable truths in a program and is not afraid to point out weaknesses, clearly, respectfully, and with evidence, to staff, peers, and the community? You will publish short, community-facing updates when findings are validated, so the ecosystem learns and improves with transparency.
You decide what to investigate next, based on signals in the data, community feedback, and emerging risks, then follow the evidence through to clear conclusions and improvement options. Your work will include:
Funding governance (grant funding milestones, payments & process integrity)
Investigate anomalies and patterns across the funding pipeline (e.g., payment differences, duplicates, mismatches, unusual timing, outliers) and document evidence clearly.
Reconcile records across systems, define “source of truth” rules, and highlight where the data pipeline breaks.
Explore relationships between funding activity and operational signals, for example, how milestone substance and complexity may correlate with time-to-review, time-to-approval, and time-to-payment.
Produce clear investigation summaries that Operations can validate and act on, while keeping the analysis understandable for stakeholders.
Help strengthen governance analytics as the program evolves, including the onboarding of other organizations and more complex funding data over time.
Program operations (Circle hours, rewards & efficiency)
Identify patterns in how time is spent (productive vs communication-heavy work, tenure patterns, recurring inefficiencies, and outliers).
Detect structural weaknesses such as unclear accountability, duplicated work across circles, misaligned incentives, or spend without measurable outcomes.
Support leadership steering through checkpoint reporting (e.g., retrospectives) with clear “what changed / why / so what / next steps” summaries.
Community-facing insights & continuous improvement
Share validated findings publicly with the community (e.g., short briefs/posts): what was found, why it matters, and what will change.
Strengthen metrics, definitions, and reporting logic over time, so DeepFunding becomes easier to measure, govern, and scale.
Coordinate reporting cadence and stakeholder alignment with the Data Analytics Circle lead, while maintaining independence in your analysis.
Experience in auditing, finance operations, governance analytics, business analysis, or investigative analytics
Experience reconciling multi-source systems where records disagree across tools/platforms
Familiarity with grants programs, milestone-based funding, or budget governance
Ability to create dashboards and write leadership-ready conclusions (not dashboards without “so what”).
Comfort collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders (Operations, Review/Governance, Circle leads)
