We aim to research and track the impact of DEEP’s work by adapting existing frameworks (such as Theory of Change and contribution analysis) to the context of an open-source AI developer ecosystem. Our focus is to define impact not only in terms of technological contribution, but also ethical considerations. Based on this, we seek to create clear guidelines for assessing, tracking, and communicating impact, both for individual projects and broader initiatives, making impact measurement a core part of strategic planning and enabling its promotion through marketing and communications.
