About Deep Communities
Deep Communities is a community-driven Web3 grant program under Deep Initiatives designed to bootstrap and accelerate the development of beneficial Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), closely aligned with the SingularityNET AI platform and OpenCog Hyperon.
Built with the Community
At Deep Communities, we believe that the best way to build a strong community is with the community, not just for it. That's why we started with just two staff members, but have since expanded by involving our community, now with nearly 100 active members contributing to various operational tasks.
A diverse network of individuals from different countries, cultures, social backgrounds, and areas of expertise is responsible for various roles. These semi-volunteers are organized into Circles, with each Circle focusing on a specific aspect of Deep Communities to ensure smooth workflow. Since the creation of the first Circle in the summer of 2023, Deep Communities has grown to 10 Circles and continues to expand as our ecosystem evolves.

Beyond Circles, Deep Communities also fosters inclusiveness and collaboration through Community Hubs and goal-oriented Workgroups, which help drive specific initiatives and ensure seamless execution of shared goals.
Together, we work toward one vision: making the world a better place by building accessible and beneficial AGI, spearheaded by Jan Horlings, Raphael Presa, and SingularityNET.
We host regular gatherings to keep our members informed, engaged, and connected, while also helping enthusiasts and visitors gain a deeper understanding of our ecosystem.
These sessions provide updates on ongoing projects, funding rounds, and new initiatives, along with important governance changes. They also create space for idea-driven discussions, knowledge sharing, and inspiring presentations, making them a valuable opportunity for both contributors and newcomers to connect, learn, and contribute meaningfully to the growth of our community.
