Event
This All Hands focused on strengthening community support systems, operational infrastructure, and internal coordination within the Deep Funding ecosystem. The session emphasized that “support” extends beyond task execution to include presence, communication, and shared understanding across contributors.
A key operational update was presented on the new Deep Funding database and platform. The system now serves as the central infrastructure for payments, member records, and task management. Recent migration challenges were acknowledged, with improvements already implemented to stabilize payments and auditing processes. The platform introduces role-based access, real-time payment tracking, editable member profiles, and upcoming analytics dashboards for contributors and coordinators. A notable enhancement includes automated notifications to verify payment details before execution, improving transparency and reducing errors.
Discussions also explored transparency versus privacy in data sharing. While there is a strong inclination toward openness—especially for ecosystem-level metrics such as funding distribution and project outcomes—there is consensus on protecting personally identifiable information. Future public dashboards are expected to balance visibility with security, particularly as the platform evolves to support external partners.
On incentives, clarification was provided on the experimental 20% bonus system, which is currently managed through spreadsheets and automation. A future decision will determine whether this mechanism becomes a fully integrated platform feature.
Additional updates included preparation for the AI for Good Summit, where Deep Funding representatives will focus on onboarding proposers, partners, and platform users, with performance metrics to be evaluated post-event.
From the documentation perspective, a new initiative was proposed to establish a lightweight proofreading and editing function for public-facing materials. The goal is to improve clarity, accuracy, and professionalism of outputs while maintaining each circle’s unique voice. Early discussions suggest starting with less time-sensitive content and evolving toward broader support based on capacity.
Finally, insights from an OpenProject usage survey revealed moderate adoption, with most users finding the tool usable but highlighting needs for improved training, task clarity, and workflow simplicity. Feedback gathered will inform future refinements to enhance usability and participation.
Overall, the session underscored a continued effort to build a more reliable, transparent, and supportive operational backbone for Deep Funding, with a strong emphasis on improving user experience and community effectiveness.
